GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTION
Good day all guys. we are, HSE Dept. Always be protecting you from workplace hazards that can cause injury.
Sometimes referenced to as Follow Safety Meeting, is an informal group discussion on a single safety issue. Toolbox Talks are an effective way to refresh workers’ safety and health knowledge as well as to promote safety culture daily. But need to safety instruction for specific works and equipment.
General safety instruction be follow:
1. Encourage everyone to employee and discuss from their own experiences and knowledge
2. Focus on only one safety and health subject per talk
3. Be specific with the recommended actions for hazard controls and safe work behaviors - avoid general statements!
4. Incorporate real work situations
5. Allow sufficient time for questions and answers
6. Brief specific work related all types of hazards and control method
7. Visit work location and ensure to workers about equipment hazards
ELECTRICAL SAFETY / LOTO
Good day all guys. we are, EHS Dept. be protecting you from workplace hazards that can cause injury.
General safety precautions: Safety to personnel and safe operation of machines and tools should be of uppermost importance in all considerations of using electricity on the jobsite.
DO-
ü Do inspect all electrical equipment daily prior to use, and tag as needed and report damaged tools to supervisor.
ü Do survey the work site for overhead power lines and other electrical hazards when using ladders or working platforms. Maintain the required distance from electrical equipment and conductors. This distance depends on the voltage hazard.
ü Do provide adequate overload and short-circuit protection for safe operation. The interrupting capacity of all breakers and fuses must be sufficient to clear the fault current rapidly and without damage to itself.
ü Do provide cord protection for flexible cords and cables passing through doorways or other pinch points.
ü Do keep a fire extinguisher on work site at ALL times. it may be used on live circuits. A dry chemical extinguisher may be used; however, it will leave a residue.
ü Do avoid mixing water and electricity. Keep electrical equipment, hands and feet, and working surface dry.
ü Do check all electrical equipment and notify others that are also connected to the power source before resetting breakers.
ü When inspected or repairs any electrical equipment, must be breaker off and put LOTO as per needed. Also can follow buddy system.
A lock out/tag out procedure should include the following six steps:
1. Preparation 2. Shutdown 3. Isolation 4. Lockout/tagout 5. Stored energy check 6. Isolation verification
Let’s look at each of these steps of LOTO safety more closely in the sections below.
Employee will attach lockout and/or tagout devices to each energy-isolating device. The point is to apply the lockout device on the energy-isolating device in a way so it says in the “safe” position and cannot be moved to the unsafe position except by the person performing the lockout.
Tagout refers to applying a tag on the device as well. This tag includes the name of the person who performed the lockout and additional information.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL DISPOSAL

Steel Industries generate wastes that are considered hazardous or harmful to human health or the environment because they are flammable, welding smoke, rust, dust, fume, chemical etc. Due to the harmful potential of hazardous materials, workers must remain aware of the safety hazards and proper handling and disposal procedures in order to protect the environment, themselves.
General safety precautions:
1. Proper handling of waste materials.
2. Should be segregated and stored in compatible hazard classes.
3. Workers should be familiar with the requirements for their worksite and wastes.
4. Storage areas for hazardous wastes should be inspected at least weekly.
5. Should not be stacked or handled in a manner that could cause them to fail.
6. Heavy material bales are also capable of severely injuring or crushing workers if they are improperly stored and secured.
7. Operating machinery at lower speeds to reduce dust generation.
MATERIALs HANDLING
Hello! Good morning all guys. How are you, everybody? Hope all of fine. By the by HSE person always friendly relation of you. So, we want your behavior, meet, report nice with HSE. According to me that everyone on this job has injured a hand, fingers, toes or back at one time or another, while handling the materials. Now, we are discussion about materials handling on shop floor or others area. We are showing more times, in more behaviors, and to more different sizes, shapes and weights than men in any other work.
1. Don't try to carry too heavy a load. Get help / buddy system. Always be sure you can see / measure where you're going.
2. Before you set material down, be sure that your fingers and toes are in the clear.
3. Watch out for sharp rough edges. When handling such, protect your hands with gloves.
4. Lift in a way which feels most comfortable to you —with or without a straight back.
5. Lift gradually ধীরে ধীরে — do not jerk হেঁচকা.
6. Avoid windy when carrying a heavy load — if you have to turn, do so by shifting your bottoms.
7. Also, when carrying loads, keep them as close to your body as possible.
In this short discussion, we can't go into all the lifting and carrying situations that we may come up against. Just remember — there are a right way and a wrong way to do any manual handling job. Ensure load capability, if you know the weight limit then you can safely lift. Permit to maximum load per man – 50/40kg but you feel need to help must be try to follow the buddy system.
- Must be remember your physically practice when the lifting anything:
ü Bend your knees; lift with your legs, not your back
ü Keep the load as close to your body as possible
ü Keep your head up, If you must turn, use your feet, not your back
HANDLE of TOOLS (Hand & Power tools)
Good Morning. We, are protect you from workplace hazards that can cause injury. Portable, bench or floor mounted power tools and equipment need routine maintenance, inspection and adjustments to ensure safe operation. Tool bits, blades and other changeable parts must be kept sharp and free from damage. Electrical systems, belts & pulleys and gears must be properly guarded to prevent exposing employees to hazards.
Hand Tools
Hand tools are non-powered. The greatest hazards posed by hand tools result from misuse and improper maintenance. Appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, goggles, gloves, etc., should be worn due to hazards that may be encountered while using portable power tools and hand tools. Around flammable substances, sparks produced by iron and steel hand tools can be a dangerous ignition source. Where this hazard exists, spark-resistant tools made from brass, plastic, aluminum, or wood will provide for safety.
Power Tools
Power tools can be hazardous when improperly used. There are several types of power tools, based on the power source they use: electric, air-filled, liquid fuel, hydraulic, and powder-actuated.
• Never carry a tool by the cord or hose.
• Never yank the cord or the hose to disconnect it from the receptacle.
• Keep cords and hoses away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
• Disconnect tools when not in use before servicing and when changing accessories such as blades, bits and cutters.
• All observers should be kept at a safe distance away from the work area.
• Secure work with clamps or a vise, freeing both hands to operate the tool.
• Avoid accidental starting. The worker should not hold a finger on the switch button while carrying a plugged-in tool.
• Tools should be maintained with care. They should be kept sharp and clean for the best performance. Follow instructions in the user's manual for lubricating and changing accessories.
• Be sure to keep good footing and maintain good balance.
